THE SPECIAL SHELF

This shelf is quite possibly the most meaningful part of the house for me.

The frog ornament is made of jade, so when I was little I would pretend it was treasure and really valuable when I was playing games.

The little teddies each have their own personal names, personalities and backstories created by my Nan and Grandad.

The bigger monkey teddy is the most important, of all the items, to me as I bought it for my Grandad as a kid and I became inseparable from it whenever I was there especially of a night when I would refuse to sleep without it.

I created an animation about the importance of the monkey in my artistic journey, from using paper and pencil as a kid, to digital drawing now and how it links to the relationship between my Grandad and I.
